About The Conference

The purpose of this event is to provide comprehensive PRACTICAL professional development aimed at improving the pedagogy of band directors across Illinois. The content of the conference has been curated to be applicable for teachers of all grade levels and programs of all sizes!

The conference includes three featured multi-day clinics by nationally recognized band directors (Michael Pote, Darcy Vogt Williams, and Chip De Stefano) covering ensemble intonation, tone development, and strategies for teaching rhythm. Each day will also include two specialized sessions with topics ranging from clarinet pedagogy to traveling with students. The final portion of each day will be a live rehearsal clinic with multiple different teachers and approaches to band pedagogy.

We are hoping that each day will also bring meaningful networking opportunities during the lunch break as well as other social events outside of the conference time.
